Your skin is monitored throughout.

The treatment will then be completed with appropriate Circadia post-treatment products and skin protection.

Will my skin actually peel?

Not necessarily.

Some professional chemical peels cause visible flaking or peeling while others produce little visible shedding.

The amount of peeling is not a measure of whether the treatment has worked.

Preparing for your peel

You must tell Becca about:

• Retinol or retinoid use
• Prescription acne medication
• Exfoliating acids
• Recent injectable treatment
• Recent laser treatment
• Waxing or hair removal
• Sun exposure
• Upcoming holidays
• Previous reactions to chemical peels

Some skincare products may need to be stopped in advance.

Expected downtime

Depending on the peel, temporary effects may include:

• Redness
• Tightness
• Sensitivity
• Dryness
• Flaking
• Visible peeling
• Temporary darkening of areas of pigmentation before shedding

Your expected response will be discussed before treatment.

Aftercare following your chemical peel

• Do not pick or pull peeling skin
• Avoid retinoids until advised
• Avoid exfoliating acids
• Avoid scrubs and cleansing brushes
• Avoid waxing and threading
• Avoid saunas and steam rooms
• Avoid excessive heat
• Avoid swimming while the skin is actively peeling or sensitive
• Avoid sunbeds completely
• Minimise direct sun exposure
• Keep the skin hydrated
• Use the recommended Circadia products
• Apply high-factor broad-spectrum SPF every day
